The Milwaukee Bucks are a professional basketball team based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, that competes in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA) (NBA).. The Bucks won 3 championships in the conference (1971, 1974, and 2021) and 2 NBA Championships (1971 and 2021).

The Bucks were established in 1968 and were finished in the bottom tier in their first season. Despite winning 11 more games than the Phoenix Suns, the Bucks earned the first selection in their 1969 NBA project, which they used to choose college supermarket Lew Alcindor (known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar from 1971). Alcindor increased Milwaukee’s victory by a total of 29 games in 1969–70, finishing the season with the NBA’s second-best record (56–26), behind New York’s Knicks, who then removed the bucks for the Eastern division. Oscar Robertson, who led Milwaukee to the greatest record 66–16 in 1970–71, traded for the future Hall of Fame point guard in the following off-season. The Bucks then comfortably won the San Francisco Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, and Baltimore Bullets, a record for the four leading North American sports clubs in their third season.

In each of the next three seasons, Milwaukee qualified for the playoffs including a trip in the 1974 NBA finals, when the Bucks lost a seven-person series against the Boston Celtics. After the 1973-74 season, Robertson retired and Abdul-Jabbar moved the Lakers for the next year in a sex-player deal designed by Wayne Embry, who, while he was with the Bucks in 1972, had been the first Black general manager of professional sport. In 1979–1980, a redeclared Bucks club with Don Nelson as its head coach (1976–87) with Marques Johnson, Guard Sidney Moncrief, and Junior Bridgeman started 12 straight-line franchise playoffs. In 1982–83 and 1983–84, the club progressed to two consecutive Conference Finals but was defeated by the PHILADELPHIA 76ers and the Celtics. In 1985–86, when Milwaukee made its third Eastern Conference final appearance in four years, the Bucks’ star Terry Cummings was only denied the place for the NBA Finals in the Celtic hands again.

The Bucks progressed to the second round of playoffs over the next five seasons until a seven-year post-season drought occurred with the 1991–92 season. In 1994, the Bucks won the NBA lottery draught and chose Glenn Robinson forwards, a highlight for the club. In 1998–99, Robinson and sharp-shooting guard Ray Allen led the Bucks back to their playoffs. In the first round of playoffs that season and the next, Milwaukee was beaten by the Indiana Pacers. In 2000-01, the Bucks made the final appearance for the Eastern Conference, but the team lost in seven games to the 76.

All-star guard Michael Redd led the Bucks to three more playoffs in the next ten years, but the club was evaded by additional success: in the first decade of a new century, Milwaukee had just three total winners. Although the Bucks came to playoffs in 2012–13 despite a losing record, it achieved a fresh level in the next season, when it recorded the poorest record in the NBA and won a low-fifteen game of the franchise. Under the new head coach Jason Kidd, the club had a very spectacular return in 2014–2015, since in addition to 26 victories for its previous season and a return to playoffs, a youthful Bucks squad exceeded expectations.

But Milwaukee returned swiftly the next season to the lowest levels of NBA. During the 2016–2017 season, the rapid development of versatile Giannis Antetokounmpo has pushed the Bucks back to the playoffs that season. Although Milwaukee improved with Antetokounmpo, Kidd’s coaching approach was irritated by the management, and Kidd was dismissed in the 2017–18 season, the campaign concluded with the Bucks playoff defeat in the first rounds for the second consecutive season.

During the off-season, Milwaukee hired Mike Budenholzer, a defensive trainer, and quickly converted the Bucks into one of the NBA’s best coaches, bringing them to the league’s best record in 2018-19. During playoffs, for the first time in 18 years, the club moved to the conference finals but was defeated by the Toronto Raptors. The Bucks again recorded the best in the 2019–20 league but again fell into deception in the playoffs, falling to the Miami Heat in a disaster five-game second round. The subsequent playoff failures of Milwaukee resulted in increasing demands to shoot Budenholzer during the off-season but Milwaukee remained on the way and brought Jrue Holiday as a guard to provide solid on-site leadership and excellent defenses.

In 2020–21, the Bucks remained one of the top teams in the NBA but dropped to the third seed at the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee exorcised his playoff nightmares behind Holiday clutch performance, all-star watch Khris Middleton and Antetokounmpo, who enabled the club to overcome many numbers of gaps in the NBA final. There, despite falling behind the Phoenix Suns, Antetokounmpo took one of the best performances in the history of the finals, with 35.2 points on average, 13.2 rebounds, and 5.0 game assists for the series and led the Bucks to four straight victories (including the score of a remarkable 50 in the deciding sixth game) to win the second league championship in the franchise.
