Michael Strahan was born in the Texas city of Houston. He is the youngest of six children and the son of Louise (Traylor) Strahan, a basketball coach, and Gene Willie Strahan, a retired Army Major and former boxer who has a 1–1 record against future heavyweight Ken Norton. He is the youngest of six children. He is the nephew of Art Strahan, a former NFL defensive tackle who is no longer active.

When Michael was nine years old, his family relocated to Mannheim, West Germany, to a military installation known as BFV (Benjamin Franklin Village). [a citation is required] However, despite the fact that Strahan did not begin playing high school football until his senior year at Westbury High School, he did participate in organized football at Mannheim American High School (MAHS), a US Department of Defense Dependent High School in Käfertal (Mannheim), where he was a linebacker for the Mannheim Bison from 1985 to 1986.

Strahan’s father sent him to live with his uncle Art in Houston during the summer before his senior year of high school so that he could attend Westbury High School in the fall. A single football season was enough for Strahan to earn a scholarship offer from Texas Southern University, which was his first college football experience. He subsequently returned to Germany for the spring semester, when he received his bachelor’s degree from Mannheim Christian.

Strahan received his bachelor’s degree from Texas Southern University in 1993. ‘s uncle, Art Strahan, was a defensive lineman who played for the Houston Oilers in 1965 and the Atlanta Falcons in 1966. ‘ (1968). Finding Your Roots revealed to Strahan that he has Anglo-Saxon lineage that can be traced back to Charlemagne, who is his 39-great-grandfather, in an episode that aired earlier this year (Season 5, Episode 6).

From 1992 to 1996, he was married to Wanda Hutchins, who was his first and only wife. Wanda Home Designs is owned by an American businesswoman who also happens to be an interior designer and decorator. The Strahan’s are the parents of two children: Tanita Strahan and Michael Anthony Strahan, Jr. When Strahan’s parents decided to relocate to the United States, he purchased a $163,000 house in the same neighborhood where they lived. Strahan tied the knot with Jean Muggli in 1999 after meeting her at a spa. They have two daughters, Isabella and Sophia, who were born in December of 2004 to this couple.

Strahan has been a resident of Manhattan’s Upper West Side since 2004. Acrimonious divorce proceedings between Strahan and Muggli came to a close on July 20, 2006. In January 2007, Muggli was given $15 million in a divorce settlement, in addition to $18,000 per month in child support. Judge James B. Convery made the decision. Strahan filed an appeal.

In March 2007, the court ruled that the estate in Montclair, New Jersey, be auctioned and that the proceeds of the sale be divided equally; the house was valued at $3.6 million. Strahan was engaged to Nicole Mitchell, Eddie Murphy’s ex-wife, in August 2009, however, the couple called off their engagement in 2014. Strahan is currently single. In June 2011, Strahan appeared in a commercial in favor of the legalization of same-sex marriage in the state of New York. Strahan tested positive for COVID-19 in January 2021, the first time this has happened.

He spent his entire fifteen-year professional football career with the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). In his final season with the Giants, Strahan set a single-season record for quarterback sacks, which is now held by no other player in the league. Strahan was instrumental in the Giants’ Super Bowl XLII victory over the New England Patriots in his final season.

Since his retirement from the NFL, he has established himself as a media personality, first as a football analyst on Fox NFL Sunday, then as co-host of ABC’s Good Morning America and Live! with Kelly and Michael with Kelly Ripa from 2012 to 2016, for which he received two Daytime Emmy Awards, as well as guest appearances on game shows and other programs.

In 2014, he began appearing on Good Morning America on a regular basis, and in 2016, the network announced that Strahan would be departing Live! to become a full-time contributor to GMA. When Strahan was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014, he did so in his first year of eligibility. Since then, he has continued to advocate for charities that promote youth and community development, among other things. His win for the Dorris Award on To Tells the Truth: Part II on ABC was announced on August 6, 2020, making him the show’s third panelist to receive the honor.

As a result of his familiarity with the primary characters, Doris Day Bowman had to play one game on his behalf. Michael Strahan is a former defensive end for the New York Giants and the co-host of the morning television show “Good Morning America.” He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in New Jersey. Michael Strahan is a former NFL defensive lineman who has transitioned into a morning show host.

Strahan was taken by the New York Giants in the first round of the 1993 NFL draught after starring for Texas Southern University. The long and illustrious career of Strahan earned him a spot among the league’s all-time quarterback sack leaders. Following his retirement from the NFL in 2008, Strahan transitioned well into a new television career. Strahan joined the morning television show Live! With Kelly and Michael in September 2012, and he later joined the show Good Morning America. Strahan is married to Kelly Ripa, and they have two children.

Strahan proceeded to make remarkable improvements during his time as a college athlete. As the line of scrimmage opened up in front of him, he barreled through offensive lines and terrorized opposing quarterbacks. During his final year, Strahan’s performance had attracted the attention of NFL scouts and coaches. The New York Giants picked the exceptional defensive player in the 40th round of the 1993 NFL Draft, which took place in the spring of 1993.

After excelling in high school and college, Strahan, who stands at 6’5″, was fast to adjust to the new competition and football atmosphere in which he found himself. After two seasons in the league, he was promoted to full-time starter for the Giants in his third. The following season, he recorded his first season with more than ten quarterback sacks, earning him his first Pro Bowl selection as a result.

Strahan established himself as a dominant defensive force for the Giants throughout the course of the next decade. Following a 15-sack season in 1998, he set an NFL single-season record with 22.5 sacks in 2001, becoming the first player to do it. The career total of 141.5 QB sacks would eventually place Strahan in sixth place all-time in the NFL at the time of his final game in 2009. Strahan’s professional life came to a successful conclusion.

Despite having considered retiring, the star veteran rejoined the Giants in time for the 2007 season. Together with quarterback Eli Manning, Strahan guided the team to its first Super Bowl triumph in over two decades, a thrilling victory over Tom Brady and the undefeated New England Patriots in the last game of the season. Immediately following the stunning victory, Strahan declared his retirement from football.

“I just hope that people can look back and say he was a tremendous defensive end, he contributed to our victory, he’s a motivator, he’s a team leader,” Strahan said in a press conference. “And I’m sure you’ll miss me when I’m not around.” Even before Strahan announced his retirement from the NFL, it was widely assumed that he would pursue a career in television broadcasting.

Following his retirement, Strahan was hired by FOX Sports to work as a football analyst for the network. In addition, he has appeared in multiple ads for the Subway sandwich restaurant. Strahan featured in the short-lived FOX sitcom Brothers, which premiered in the fall of 2009. When Strahan joined Kelly Ripa’s Live! With Kelly in September 2012, he was immediately welcomed as a newcomer.

He joined up with Kelly Ripa to present the syndicated talk program, which was renamed Live! With Kelly and Michael. He took over for veteran host Regis Philbin, who had retired. In early 2014, Strahan was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame by a vote of his peers. In April of the same year, he began working as a part-time correspondent for Good Morning America (GMA). Earlier this year, ABC announced that Strahan will be leaving Live! With Kelly and Michael to become a full-time correspondent for Good Morning America.

The decision was surprising and contentious, especially considering that Ripa only learned of his intention to leave the show minutes before he went on television. Naturally, it had strained their relationship to a significant degree. “There’s nothing I would have done differently,” he admitted after the interview. In my professional opinion, I handled it as professionally as you could possibly handle it, and I have been a professional from the first day I arrived until the day I departed… I was given the opportunity to accomplish something that most people do not: I was given the opportunity to expand and try new, creative things.”

In the fall of 2018, he joined Sara Haines, a former panelist on The View, as the new co-host of GMA Day’s third-hour slot. Strahan, Sara, and Keke were renamed Strahan, Sara, and Keke in 2019 after actress Keke Palmer joined the show as a third co-host. Strahan spent millions of dollars in 2002 restoring and renovating Georgian Heights, a property built in 1906 at 99 Lloyd Avenue in Montclair, New Jersey, a red brick house with a carriage house and greenhouse that he purchased for $1.3 million in the year 2000.

He granted permission to the Junior League of Montclair-Newark to utilize his property as a model home for charity fundraising before he moved into the house. Over the course of five days, the Junior League adorned the estate, had a “bare-bones” party and a black-tie event, and offered $25 tours to raise money for the Junior League programs Children At Risk and HomeCorp. Children At Risk provides assistance to children and families, while HomeCorp assists low-income individuals in obtaining homeownership.

For the most part, Strahan explained, “we’re refurbishing our house so that strangers can walk through it for a month.” “It’s a month-long fundraising campaign.” They’ll come in and decorate the room, as well as paint the walls. They’ll put up the drapes, bring in furniture, and install light fixtures in the room. We will not be able to claim any of it. When they’re finished, if we want something, we can have it at a discounted price.”

Strahan and Giants teammate Justin Tuck collaborated with Nike in February 2008 to create a pair of exclusive sneakers for the ID studio in New York City, which they debuted in March. The Nike Let Me Play global campaign received 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the footwear. Strahan volunteered at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in December 2018 and was featured in a series of Christmas ads as a result of his efforts
