John Barrasso (born July 21, 1952 in Reading, Pennsylvania, United States), American politician who was appointed to the United States Senate from Wyoming in 2007 as a Republican and won a special election the following year.
Barrasso attended Georgetown University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in science and a doctorate in medicine in 1974. (1978). Following his residency at Yale Medical School, he relocated to Wyoming and established an orthopaedic surgery business.
